ATTEND THE 6TH ANNUAL NEW YORK LONG ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL, FOUNDED BY SUFFOLK AME MEMBER GERRY FERRETTI!

THE SIXTH ANNUAL NEW YORK LONG ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL –OCTOBER 16 -20, 2024

The New York Long Island Film Festival (NYLIFF) will run its SIXTH annual festival on October 16 -21, 2024 in Lindenhurst, NY. The festival will open on the 16th at the Lindenhurst Moose Lodge (883 South Broadway), and will run there over the next five days, along with additional screenings at South Shore Theatre Experience (115 South Wellwood Avenue) on the 17th and 18th.  Over 100 independent films will be shown during the festival, with tickets ranging from $10.00 per block, $30.00 per day, or $115.00 for a VIP All-Access Pass, which includes NYLIFF’s first-ever Awards Brunch on Sunday, October 20th. The Awards Brunch will include a special appearance by legendary actor, Dan Lauria, star of TV (The Wonder Years), Broadway (Lombardi), and film (Reagan- now playing in theaters).

Also new at NYLIFF for 2024 will be panel sessions with various filmmakers, and well-known industry professionals, as well as the first interactive film shoot.  During this “Shoot The Scene” workshop, NYLIFF alumni will work together to shoot a scene from a famous movie right before the eyes of the guests in attendance on Thursday evening at 5:30 PM at the Moose Lodge.  Filmmakers can watch and learn through the process as they rehearse, set lighting, sound & cameras, and shout action.  The film created will be shown during the Awards Brunch on Sunday.

Lindenhurst Filmmaker Gerry Ferretti, Suffolk AME Member in the Social Services Unit, created NYLIFF in 2019, along with actress Katie Schrader, to give equal opportunity to all filmmakers, actors, actresses, writers, and artists who put their hearts and souls into their crafts –especially those who might lack the resources necessary to perfectly polish their work. In the past, many great artists were discovered for their unique talents and abilities, even when all the technical aspects were not in place. Recognizing a great story, actor, or script while not yet perfected should be the goal of the people running a festival. The non-profit NYLIFF team is also dedicated to creating a learning environment for filmmakers of all ages and experiences. It is this standard of excellence and commitment that has established NYLIFF as one of the most successful and highly regarded film festivals in New York.

NYLIFF chose Lindenhurst, NY, located on Long Island, for its convenience to Manhattan and surrounding areas, proximity to multiple airports, and walking distance to the LIRR station. NYLIFF is also arranging Meet & Greet networking mixers for festival attendees at the Moose Lodge, Belfast Gastro Pub and other local Lindenhurst restaurants. All parties and screenings will have red-carpet events, photography, and interviews with casts, crews, and attendees. Please visit www.filmfreeway.com/nyliff for tickets.
