With this in mind, Suffolk AME is happy to inform our members of AME-exclusive scholarships, for members and their dependents, offered by Suffolk County Community College!
Suffolk County Association Of Municipal Employees, Inc Scholarships Offered at Suffolk County Community College:
Edward A. Thornlow, Jr., Memorial Scholarship
• Awarded to Full-time or Part-time students
• Award: $250 (one award)
• Criteria:
- Must be enrolled in the A.A.S. Computer Information Technology degree (Information Systems or Network Design and Administration)
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must include one letter of recommendation from an SCCC faculty member
- Must be an active Suffolk County Association Of Municipal Employees, Inc. member or the dependent of an active AME member
Frances Plourd Memorial/AME Scholarship
• Awarded to Full-time or Part-time students
• Award: $350 (one award)
• Criteria:
- Must be an active Suffolk County Association Of Municipal Employees, Inc. member or the dependent of an active AME member
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for 9 credits
- The student must attend the Grant Campus
Gerry Trerotola Memorial/AME Scholarship
• Awarded to Full-time or Part-time students
• Award: $700 (two awards)
• Criteria:
- Must be an active Suffolk County Association Of Municipal Employees, Inc. member or the direct relative of an active AME member (spouse or child)
- The student must attend the Ammerman Campus
- Must have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. for 9 credits
- Must be currently enrolled for a minimum of 3 credits
